Youth Talk are excited to share that the Santa Float will be passing through the Townsend area of St Albans again this year.
COVID has caused many disruptions to community events, however, it is a long-standing tradition in St Albans, that the Round Table get Father Christmas to visit many areas of the town before Christmas. Many say it isn’t Christmas until they see the Santa Float come down their street!
If you are looking out for Santa, you can visit the Round Table’s website to check when the float is in your area. Santa’s little Youth Talk helpers are thrilled to be volunteering this year and will be helping to light up the streets on Thursday 10 December. Please do check the route for when Youth Talk will be visiting your area.
In light of social distancing rules and COVID regulations, we will not be knocking on your doors this year, when you hear the music playing and float approaching, please do come out to give us a wave and make a donation if you can. We will have cash buckets on festive poles to enable collections and hope to use contactless card readers too.
Rachel Simkin, Youth Talk’s Corporate and Community Fundraiser shares “we were delighted when the Round Table confirmed that the Santa Float could go ahead with their annual fundraiser. This year is very different for all of us, but no less important for us to still add some Christmas cheer to St Albans and help raise vital funds. Throughout the pandemic we have ensured that our vital counselling service remains open for 13-25 year olds in St Albans and surrounding areas. Demand for our service is set to soar and your donations are never more needed as we prepare for 2021.”
As always, safety is paramount, so please ensure that you keep you and your children safe and do not approach the float for hygiene reasons.
