On the 26th April our Chief Executive David Barker will be taking part in the nationwide 2.6 challenge to help save the UK’s charities. The Covid-19 pandemic has had a catastrophic effect on charities with the cancellation of thousands of events and the loss of billions in vital income through fundraising events.
The services of Youth Talk have never been needed more, but like all charities our income is going to be significantly impacted this year.
So, forget about the age old ice bucket challenge and delight at our CEO in his garden facing a freezing hosing down for 2.6 minutes (rather him than us!) – all in the name of the Youth Talk 2.6 challenge!
David has promised to record the event for your entertainment and delight – all you need to do is donate what you can and ideally share it with your friends and family.
David said “My 2.6 minute soaking will I hope both entertain and encourage people to donate to such an important and desperately needed service – lets hope it’s a sunny and warm day on Sunday!”
Our 2.6 challenge will be helping young people across St Albans and the surrounding areas who need support with their mental health and emotional wellbeing. Read more about the charity’s work here.
We are grateful to David for taking a soaking on our behalf.
